CEOs are indisputably living big in an age where the importance and pressure of making critical and strategic decisions is arguably amplified. So, ever wondered who are the highest-paid CEOs in the tech industry in the U.S.?
While some tech CEOs, including Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg and Alphabet Inc. founder Larry Page chose to receive a $1 annual salary, there are still some others who are raking in the big moolah.
In an annual survey done by Equilar in collaboration with The Times, they compiled a list of ‘200 highest-paid CEO rankings’ in U.S. The list below provides the 10 highest-paid tech CEOs at public U.S. companies.
Here are the highest-paid tech CEOs, ranked lowest to highest, where 10 is the lowest.
10. Margaret C Whitman, CEO, Hewlett-Packard
Margaret C Whitman, tech giant Hewlett-Packard’s chief is the last on this list. Whitman earned an annual salary of $19,612,164, which consisted of $1,500,058 in base salary, $4,314,000 cash bonus and $295,394 as perks.
9. Michael J Saylor, CEO, MicroStrategy (MSTR)
Next on the list is Michael J Saylor, CEO of business intelligence and cloud company MicroStrategy with an annual compensation of $24,101,665, which includes base salary of $583,333 and $1,810,332 in perks.
8. Brian L Roberts, CEO, Comcast
Brian L Roberts, CEO of cable, internet and phone company Comcast earns an annual compensation of $26,465,565. This includes base salary of $2,857,315, cash bonus of $9,000,542 and $4,003,083 in perks.
7. Zachary Nelson, CEO, NetSuite
Zachary Nelson of cloud software company NetSuite gets an annual compensation of $31,640,991, which includes base salary of $500,000, cash bonus of $530,782 and perks worth $8,908.
6. Marc Benioff, CEO, Salesforce
Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff is the next ‘highest-paid CEO’ on this list. His total annual compensation is $39,907,534, which includes base salary of $1,440,000, cash bonus of $2,816,640 and perks worth $1,291,541.
5. Marissa A Mayer, CEO, Yahoo
Yahoo’s Marissa A Mayer is the first female CEO who has made to this list. While she earns an annual compensation of $42,083,508, her salary comprises base salary of $1,000,000, cash bonus of $1,108,800 and perks worth $28,065.
4. Steven M Mollenkopf, CEO, Qualcomm
Steven M Mollenkopf, CEO of chip giant Qualcomm is the next highest-paid technology CEO in this list who gets an annual compensation of $60,740,592. Mollenkopf’s base salary is $1,069,239, cash bonus amount is $1,550,000 and he gets perks worth $121,150.
3. Lawrence J Ellison, CEO, Oracle
Oracle CEO Lawrence J Ellison gets an annual compensation of $67,261,251. This includes base salary of $1, cash bonus of $741,384 and $1,540,266 worth of perks.
2. Nicholas Woodman, CEO, GoPro
CEO of action camera company GoPro, Nicholas Woodman’s total compensation is $77,427,175. His salary includes base salary of $800,000, cash bonus of $1,893,600 and $47,525 in perks.
1. Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft
India-born Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella tops the list as the highest paid technology CEO with a compensation of $84,308,755. His salary includes base salary of $918,917, cash bonus of $3,600,000 and $12,729 in perks.
